If education is to be a serious component of our response to the environmental crises we face, it must be more than just a few activities or infused lessons scattered across the curriculum. Earth Education, defined as the process of helping people live more harmoniously and joyously with the natural world, takes a holistic, programmatic approach. Knowledge, attitudes and behavior are the focus of earth education programs, and they are woven together in acknowledgement of their fundamental interrelationships. In this presentation, we will examine the programmatic approach, look at one example program, and summary the findings of research on earth education programs.
